Many. Upper Long Cane Cemetery, sometimes called Long Cane Cemetery and occasionally mistakenly called Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church Cemetery, is located just north of the junction of Greenville Street (S.C. Highway 20) and Beltline Road (S.C.

Secondary Road ), approximately two miles north of Abbeville, in Abbeville County, South Carolina. The cemetery had no direct connection to Upper Long Cane Church, located in close proximity, although those establishing the burial grounds may well have been members of the church.

Noteworthy migration from Long Cane to westward states such as Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Texas began in earnest circa and continued for many years. The Long Cane Massacre (also referred to as the Long Canes Massacre) took place in the Long Canes area of Abbeville in Scots-Irish settlers established a community near Long Cane Creek in the early s where the height of the canes indicated fertile soil.
